Spotlight: The Walls Winery, 2021 GRAY Awards Finalist

A closer look at the Walls Winery, one of five finalists in the 2021 GRAY Awards Commercial Interior Design category.

The Walls Winery

Sitting just outside of the downtown hub of Walla Walla, Washington, is the Walls Winery & Tasting Room, a cozy space outfitted with a big personality. Looking to update the space, and break it out of its existing confines, owner Mike Martin and team enlisted NB Design Group to reimagine the potential of the tasting space and how it could better engage and serve the winery's guests.

NB Design was confronted with dark and cramped interiors, which were transformed into a warm and inviting living room space that welcomes guests to get cozy while they enjoy a glass of wine. Near the main tasting room sits a new VIP area for private tastings. Guests here enjoy a special respite and a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the barreling and fermenting process.

The biggest addition to the Walls is a playful outdoor space that comprises high-backed sofas that allow for intimate gatherings amidst a large open area that doubles as additional dining space as well as an area to play pétanque or sit around the fire.
