GRAY Loves: Maiden Noir’s Latest Collection Blooms in Bold, Garden-Inspired Colors

Coral trousers, oversized shirts in tropical prints, and sharply creased track pants in a rich plum shade are just a few of the standout styles in Maiden Noir’s spring/summer 2019 lineup. The Seattle- and Tokyo-based contemporary men’s and women’s clothing brand, which was founded in 2005 by designer Nin Truong, recently unveiled its Jardim de Flor collection, which borrows themes from the work of Brazilian landscape architect, artist, and activist Roberto Burle Marx.

“Roberto Burle Marx was one of the most influential landscape architects of the mid-20th century. As a painter and native plant collector, he fused these two passions into the art of the garden,” Truong says. “Throughout his career he was regarded as the father of modern landscape architecture. This spirit was what we wanted to capture within the collection.”

“We want to encourage our customer to be more experimental,” Truong says. “To step outside his or her comfort zone while still remaining confident in their individual style.”

Shop Maiden Noir’s Jardim de Flor collection at maidennoir.com or at Seattle’s Da Da Da Gallery (available March 7).
