Home Décor Retailer Schoolhouse Sells for $48 million

GRAY Awards 2021 finalist Schoolhouse was acquired by Brooklyn-based Food52 in a $48 million deal scheduled to close by the end of the year.

The Oregonian reported today that Schoolhouse, a Portland store that sells upscale lighting, hardware, and home décor, sold to Food52 in a cash and stock deal. Food52, cofounded in 2009 by former New York Times journalist Amanda Hesser, sells kitchenware and similar décor.
