Founded in 1992 by Greg Bjarko and Chris Serra in Seattle, BjarkoSerra Architects aim to provide simple modern designs that are approachable, well-crafted, and site-specific. Their work encompasses a broad spectrum of project types—such as new and remodeled residences, vacation homes and retreats, multi-family residences, religious institutions, daycare and community centers, fitness and health facilities, and several restaurants and microbreweries.

The firm’s designs honor utility and restraint without the loss of spirit or craft. They integrate the building and site to form a complementary whole, enhance the relationship between building and nature through the use of views and natural light, and encourage sustainability through sensitive design choices.

Many of the firm’s most interesting projects have been achieved through creative yet economical solutions. These successes are the cornerstone of the practice. BjarkoSerra Architects have received many design accolades, including AIA Honor Awards and AIA Home of the Month designations.
