Embracing an inclusive design philosophy, principal Tyler Engle's vision is based not on the “either-or” of opposites, rather on a broader perspective that is built on the principle of “both-and.” This allows their work to be both intuitive and rational, passionate and peaceful, elegant and relaxed. "We embody this mindset because it creates a more dynamic design that celebrates contrasts and relationships," says Engle.
Engle established Tyler Engle Architects PS in 2000. He's a native of Seattle who received a Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University with honors, and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. His more than 35 years of architectural experience includes work in Seattle, San Diego, New York, and Madrid. Projects include the Alhambra Visitors Center in Spain, JFK Japan Airlines Terminal, Kings County Hospital in New York, and numerous residences in the Pacific Northwest. Tyler served on the Baldwin Hardware Design Council, is a Past President of the experimental theater ‘On the Boards,’ and was a trustee of the ‘Intiman’ board.
