Introducing our June/July Issue Cover: Francis Kéré

The next issue of GRAY, heading to newsstands June 1, 2019, will feature West African architect Francis Kéré, whose work includes a number of civic buildings in his native Burkina Faso, the 2017 Serpentine Pavilion, and the Sarbalé Ke installation for the 2019 Coachella Music and Arts Festival. Written by GRAY’s senior editor, Rachel Gallaher, and photographed by Christopher Garcia Valle, the story explores Kéré’s remarkable partnership with Peter and Cathy Halstead, founders of Montana’s Tippet Rise Art Center, and how they are using design—specifically, two Kéré-designed structures in Montana and in his hometown—as a means for cultural exchange.

An American magazine and media brand that connects the world to the ideas, resources, and initiatives that move design forward.
