STAGE DESIGN
"A QUICK HAND SKETCH IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS"

Paying homage to the ebb and flow of a designer/architect’s hand sketches, the 2023 GRAY Stage at IDS Toronto features gently sloping shapes creating an inviting space for organic movement. Combining their own unique sketches, the GRAY Stage design team formed a space that allows visitors to actively participate in various speaker’s sessions and activities.
A MEETING OF THE MINDS
In partnership with the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) and the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC), the 2023 GRAY Stage at IDS Toronto will host talks with designers and visionaries about the significance that design has on our future; allowing makers, designers, and collaborators the opportunity to share and/or demonstrate their ideas live on stage.
With a focus on sustainability, the design team introduced the use of sonotubes to create the backdrop for the stage. A product that is readily available in standardized sizes, they were able to calculate the exact requirements to reduce waste and allow for ease of installation and removal.
The GRAY Stage will be located in the main hall adjacent to Studio North & Prototype.
